20% Discount at Zizzi’s  Restaurant

The Lion Salt Works Museum and Zizzi’s restaurants in Chester and Cheshire Oaks have teamed up to offer discounts of 20% to each other’s customers.

On production of a Zizzi receipt, the Lion Salt Works will give 20% off the price of entry into the Museum for up to 6 people; Zizzi will offer a 20% discount off food for groups of up to six people, including bookings on Friday and Saturdays.

This offer will be available immediately and will run until the end of the school Summer holidays on Sunday 4 September.

Louise Jarvis, Chester’s Zizzi Manager, said: “On the wall of Zizzi at Cheshire Oaks is a giant picture of the Lion Salt Works’ name. When the restaurant was being fitted, Zizzi’s design team wanted to put something that could only be found in Cheshire. It was a good choice as we regularly have customers asking about the Lion Salt Works. We are delighted that the Museum has been such a success since re-opening and really pleased to be able to offer this reciprocal discount to customers. We hope customers will enjoy a great time out at both venues.”

Zizzi serves tasty authentic Italian dishes from pizza, pasta and risotto to salads and desserts. It also serves vegan and vegetarian food. This discount is available on food but not drink at Zizzi restaurants at the Coliseum, Cheshire Oaks and Zizzi, 27 Newgate Street, Chester.

The award-winning Lion Salt Works Museum, owned by Cheshire West and Chester Council and restored thanks to a £5m grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund, is one of the last open-pan, salt-making sites in the world and is an Ancient Scheduled Monument.

It is offering a 20% discount on the entry price to anyone with a Zizzi receipt. The Museum, which in early March, won the country’s most prestigious conservation award at the Civic Trust 2016 Awards Ceremony, tells the story of salt in a series of fun and interactive displays, including a light and sound display that simulates the huge steaming salt pans.

Councillor Louise Gittins, Cabinet Member for Culture, Leisure and Wellbeing at Cheshire West and Chester Council, said: “This is a great offer for families planning a day out at Easter. It is also excellent to see this sort of collaboration between businesses in Cheshire. Staff at the Lion Salt Works Museum are showing real initiative by ‘adding value’ to a day out at this award-winning Museum.”

The Lion Salt Works offers free car parking and free access to the Museum’s café, an imaginatively-themed play area and the Museum’s butterfly garden. One of the few Museums in the UK to have its own moorings, it is located next to the Trent & Mersey Canal and is close to scenic Marbury Woods with its many footpaths and trails.

20% will be offered off the cost of any food ordered, but not drink.  Customers should identify on arrival or booking that they would like to use the discount. This offer is only available for groups of up to six people.
