‘We are Brontë’ is a piece of comic visual theatre inspired by the real and imaginary worlds of Yorkshire’s literary siblings. Presented in Publick Transport’s irreverent style, this performance is where improvised physical theatre collides with stand-up comedy. As a result, no two performances are the same. Part play, part enquiry into the act of putting on a play, this is no ordinary adaptation.

The restoration of the Lion Salt Works Museum, owned by Cheshire West & Chester Council, was made possible thanks to a £5m grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund. The Museum has proved very popular with visitors, who enjoy its fun, interactive exhibitions, play area and café. Already the winner of four awards, the Museum is set to become one of the finest industrial history museums in the country.

StageTalk’s review called this production a “mini comedic masterpiece…ambitious, risk-taking, edgy, just downright different. A very mixed audience lapped this up. I loved it.” Bristol 24/7 said the play is “witty physical theatre at its finest.”
